KNVR Shipping Award
At the 5th anniversary of the Maritime Awards Gala in Amsterdam, Abis Shipping received the KNVR Shipping Award 2010 for her vessel type “3900 DWT Multi Purpose Heavy Cargo Vessel , Open Top and accommodation up front”. Of this type of vessels, the Abis Belfast and Abis Bergen have been completed to date, and are equipped with an engine room installation and bilge/ballast systems in the foreship for the open top principle by Wolfard & Wessels Werktuigbouw BV

"KNVTS Schip van het jaar "
The last “vessel of the year” award for which Wolfard & Wessels Werktuigbouw BV has designed and outfitted the engine room installation was the “Deo Volente” in 2007. In the following years it turned quiet until this year (2010).
A serious candidate for the the “KNVTS Schip van het jaar prijs” was the “Eemsborg” by the yard Koninklijke Niestern Sander BV. Despite the price not being granted, (IHC Dredging was awarded) this vessel still excels in the method it was built. The way of integrated and comprehensive building by all parties involved has resulted in an superb quality vessel during a limited building schedule.
Wolfard & Wessels Werktuigbouw BV is proud to have contributed to this type of vessel and believes that during the years to come, this yard and their vessel design shall be present once more at the election of “vessel of the year”.
